Dan, just got the flyfisherman mag today, and what a pic of you and the prez! being one of the few democrats in your area makes us nor cal people giddy and i talked to kelly galloup in sept. at the slide, and we catted about it, would haved love to be in your shoes on that magical day!

Thanks Chuck. It was the highlight of my guiding career to be sure. I hope I get a chance to do it again, but I am afraid it may be a while before he has enough free time to come fishing in Montana. Hope there are a lot of steelhead in No. Cal this year.

Just wanted to say nice work—I enjoyed your site! Fly Fishing with Mr. Obama must have been an incredible experience. I’m an editor for Blood Knot Magazine, an online fly fishing magazine that’s releasing its first issue in February. We also post additional content each week on our supporting website and you can view it at http://www.bloodknot.net.

In your About You section you said, “We are a group of aging fish guides who are trying to keep the faith and not turn fly fishing into snowboarding,” and I think there’s a bit of truth in that. But I wondered if you might be interested in contributing a short article and expanding on that idea more.
Our readers and writers come from all over the world and we promote our contributors’ interests. And it’s always nice to promote another site worth reading! Let me know if you’re interested.

Keep it up,

Street

Nice, but what I want to know is, could he fish? (Sorry, don’t get the mag the photo was in, which undoubtedly says.)

Also wanted to say nice blog and great photos. Definitely want to echo the above comment regarding the increasing push to make fly fishing all “extreme”. Good job, brothers… also liked the comment in your About re wasting your college ed. Nice. If you’re interested in what I’ve done with mine, and want to read a little about a bonefish guide’s (slow, painful, humorous) education, click my name.

Tight lines.
